How a leading, multi-state health system with 4500+ providers serving 1M+ patients increased data accuracy and process efficiencies to connect consumers to the right care.
THE GOAL
Consolidate and Enhance Provider Data and Streamline Maintenance
To showcase their growing care network and distinguished providers to consumers, leaders at one multi-state health system recognized the need for a scalable, centralized provider directory with automated workflows and governance processes to ensure data accuracy and reduce the burden of manual data updates for its staff. Once in place, this “source of truth” directory would serve as a reliable framework for engaging web experiences that make it easy for consumers to search for and select providers with confidence.
THE SOLUTION
Partner with an Industry Leader to Automate Provider Data Management
After attempts to build their own provider data management system proved to be both time- and labor-intensive, the health system opted to engage an external partner and chose Kyruus Health to build a system-wide provider directory to consolidate existing data and augment it with new clinical insights. Leveraging the Kyruus Connect for Providers data management platform enabled the organization to streamline ongoing data maintenance and governance drastically, as well as capture providers’ clinical expertise in greater detail using Kyruus Health’s proprietary clinical taxonomy.
The health system’s provider directory serves as the foundation for digital access initiatives, surfacing rich, reliable information that helps consumers find providers who meet their clinical needs and personal preferences. The health system is also using APIs to power the Find-a-Doctor data and search functions on its website with complete and accurate data from Kyruus Connect.
THE EARLY IMPACT
Significant Increase in Engagement and Decrease in Manual Processing
Since launching its new provider and location directory the health system has seen a dramatic 86% increase in year-over-year traffic for the Find-a-Doctor feature on its consumer-facing website. Enriched profile data and more precise content tagging are making providers more searchable for online consumers. In fact, the augmented profiles are yielding a 37% increase in consumer “click-to-schedule” interactions, reflecting a more accurate search result that leads to a higher intent to schedule an appointment.
The health system is also reaping the benefits of data automation, the organization estimates that manual provider data updates have been slashed by approximately 80%. That means staff resources can be redeployed to other tasks, a significant win in light of today’s workforce shortages.
“Solving the issue of fragmented provider data not only benefits consumers and providers, but also our internal teams who previously spent hours every month on manual updates. Partnering with Kyruus Health to build our single source of truth has enabled us to reduce resources tied to these updates and offers us the ability to manage and activate data at scale across our organization.” VP, Digital Marketing
