Patient Access Leader Completes New Milestone in Ongoing Privacy, Security, and Compliance Efforts
BOSTON – June 29, 2020 – Kyruus, the leader in provider search and scheduling solutions for health systems, today announced that it has successfully completed its System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II examination by an independent auditor. The achievement reflects a company-wide initiative and is a major milestone in Kyruus’ continued commitment to meeting the highest levels of security and compliance to protect the sensitive data of its customers and their patients.
Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the SOC 2 Type II audit assesses a wide range of controls relating to the security, availability, and data confidentiality of a company’s information technology systems, as well as processing integrity and privacy. Kyruus’ SOC 2 Type II certification provides objective, third-party validation that the company maintains exceptional standards in information management and security. Kyruus received an unqualified report, meaning that the auditor confirmed Kyruus’ compliance with the rigorous SOC 2 Type II standards without discrepancies.
Kyruus’ SOC 2 Type II attestation builds on the multitude of performance, security, and privacy standards the company already follows or has achieved. For example, Kyruus is HIPAA-compliant and hosts its enterprise patient access and data management platform fully on Amazon Web Services (AWS), a best-in-class cloud computing service that supports secure and reliable service delivery for the 600 hospitals Kyruus serves nationwide. Kyruus also conducts regular security audits and risk analyses in accordance with a range of regulatory and compliance guidelines.
“Kyruus is committed to deploying secure, best-in-class technology that enables our customers to focus on what they do best – caring for their communities,” said Chris Gervais, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Security Officer at Kyruus. “The successful completion of our SOC 2 Type II audit is a true testament to our organization’s core values, from board-level support to the tireless work of cross-functional teams on this initiative. As the healthcare landscape continues evolving, we remain focused on staying ahead of healthcare organizations’ changing information management needs.”
